Educating the Whole Scholar
We focus on teaching the whole child high-quality academics and more. We provide a safe, educational environment for scholars to learn and grow with activities that promote rigorous academics and concentrate on early intervention literacy skills, social-emotional learning, and a broad range of extracurricular and sports programs. Starting in Pre-K through 8th grade, our goal is to develop confident and happy individuals who will be successful both inside AND outside the classroom.
Developing & Empowering Black Scholars
As an organization, we are committed to ensuring that all our scholars are proficient readers and writers by the end of second grade. This is especially true for our black boys, who often face additional barriers to success in school. By pouring into them early in their educational experience, we are building a foundation for future success.
“What drives me forward in this commitment is that I am a black boy from Chicago who grew up in a single-parent household and lived in a gang-infested area. I want black boys and all of our scholars to see that someone who came from the same circumstances they did was able to not only succeed but excel. “
– Mr. Khalid Oluewu, Principal
Mathematics, Science, & Literacy
We are committed to providing small group individually-tailored instruction to increase the number of students at grade level in reading and mathematics. In addition to focusing on reading and math, we will continue enhancing our science and writing instruction through our Amplified Science curriculum and our Six Traits writing curriculum.

Technology Today, for Tomorrow
We are a 1-to-1 technology school. Every scholar has an iPad or laptop, and every room from pre-K through 8th grade is equipped with the latest interactive whiteboards and Smartboard systems to maximize student learning opportunities.
A Space to Grow
In 2019, our school was selected to participate in an innovative program to provide safe outdoor spaces for kids in low-income neighborhoods. Thanks to the “Openlands” organization, we now have a beautiful new playground and garden where our students love spending time outside.

Field Trips, Butterflies, & More
By writing grants and partnering with community businesses, we can give our students unique experiences inside and outside the classroom. We want our kids to know that there is a world out there that is filled with possibilities.
“By writing grants, I’ve provided my students with field trips, classroom supplies, and hands-on experiences such as raising butterflies.”
–Ms. Bangart, Teacher

Our Community Partners
We are so fortunate to have wonderful community partners who believe in the importance of investing into a child's future. Because of their support our students will be given opportunities to grow and develop academically, socially, and emotionally too!
