What is an LSC?
Chicago Public Schools have Local School Councils (LSC) which are responsible for three main duties:
- Approving how school funds and resources are allocated
- Developing and monitoring the annual School Improvement Plan, aka the Continuous Improvement Work Plan (“CIWP”)
- Evaluating and selecting the school's principal
